Tidy Kiwis

On Friday the senior school children and teachers hit the streets near our school to clean up the rubbish.  We were shocked at some of the things we found.  Room 12 found an old, disgusting mattress dumped in an alley way-yuck!

We made sure that we picked up the little bits of glass and bottle tops, as well as the big bits of rubbish, as our birds are eating this rubbish-would you like a bottle top for your dinner?

I think we impressed some of our community, as there were people stopping us to ask what we were doing.  There were also cars going by tooting and waving, to say thank you.

Our goal is to reduce, reuse, recycle, and to get our families on board, so that there is less rubbish in our beautiful community.
