We are fortunate to have Lawrence from the NZ Breakers working with us.  He is the tall one!  He has been teaching us how to pass the ball, get our targets (hands) ready, and how to move away from our opponents.  We LOVE working with Lawrence!

Can you Use Conjunctions?

Polyfest 2016

  On Thursday 17th March, the senior                                                                                                         school had a great day at Polyfest.
                                                                                                      We watched students from Auckland
                                                                                                      high schools perform on The Maori
                                                                                                      and Diversity stages.  What amazing
                                                                                                      talent we have in Aotearoa!

Healthy Me Please

Today we had Brogan from The Heart Foundation visit us in Room 12. We looked at the different foods in the food pyramid, and which foods are especially good for us. Are you eating 5 plus fruit and vegetables every day?


Can you answer these questions:

Why should we eat healthy food?
Which foods should we eat most of?
How does eating healthy, help us learn?
What is fibre?
What can happen to our heart if we continually eat food that is bad for us?

Soap Box Derby, 2016

On Sunday 6^th March, 2016 we took part in one of the scariest competitions for kids-The NZ Soap Box Derby.

We had an amazing crew-David, Rj, Sharniqua, Vince and Sam were our cool, calm and collected drivers, and Angalenna, Mafoa and Tia were our pit crew.

The legends who made it all possible were Debs, Shawn, Mr Lyth, Martin and Wayne-they made sure that the cars were ready, and trained the drivers and pit crew.

We had an incredible day watching our drivers zoom, zoom, zoom.  After round one, we had 4 drivers in the top 6.  By the end of the day, we had two drivers in the top six-Sharniqua and RJ.

Sharniqua and Rj will now represent us and Mainfreight at the NZ finals, which will be in Whangaparoa on Sunday 20^th March.  The winner goes to America to compete in the All American Soap Box Derby-wooohooo!  We hope that we are sending a Mainfreight student with the Mainfreight car.
