Senses Poetry

In Room 12 we have been writing about our emotions, using our senses.  Have a read.  Which poem do you like the most and why?

Joy is yellow
Joy smells like the sunflowers growing in the garden.
Joy looks like a Saturday night out with friends.
Joy sounds like laughing out loud with your family on a warm evening.
Joy feels like making a hot cooked meal for dinner.
Joy tastes like when you just bite into a meat lover’s pizza.

Love

Love is red

Love smells like my Mum after she has put her perfume on.

Love tastes like my Mum giving me hugs and kisses when I am sad.

Love sounds like my heart beating fast because my mum is kissing me.

Love looks like people getting married.

Calm
Calm is white
Calm smells like fresh air when you relax.
Calm tastes like taking your time eating a salad.
Calm sounds like someone doing meditation in a quiet room.
Calm feels like the breeze blowing through your hair when you are at the beach.

Happiness.

Happiness is red.
Happiness tastes like I am eating my favourite meal of mince, beans and potatoes.
Happiness smells like the hot cooked food that everyone is gathering around to eat.
Happiness sounds like people cheering in a good mood and laughing hard out.
Happiness looks like friends and family getting together and having a fun time.
Happiness feels like bouncing on a bouncy castle with all of my friends for my birthday.
